Editorial Standards
How stories are reviewed and protected
Last updated: April 2026
Review and moderation
Submissions may be screened for relevance, safety, clarity, duplication, and risk of exposing private or identifying information. Publication is never automatic.
Privacy-first editing
Stories may be lightly edited to remove names, addresses, case details, medical identifiers, or other information that could place a child, family, or survivor at risk.
Consent and publication
Consent to submit a story does not require publication. If you choose to allow publication, excerpts may still be withheld or delayed when safety, privacy, accuracy, or legal concerns are present.
Corrections and removal requests
If you believe published material is inaccurate, invasive of privacy, or no longer reflects your consent, submit a correction or removal request through the site contact path for review.
